Why You Might Need Lawn Maintenance

Common situations we see across Northern Virginia yards.

Your lawn is thin, weedy, and unhealthy despite your efforts to care for it.

You're tired of reacting to lawn problems instead of preventing them.

You want a thick, green, healthy lawn without spending every weekend on it.

How JYG Approaches Lawn Maintenance

Our lawn maintenance program combines mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and weed control into one predictable plan timed to Northern Virginia's seasons. Instead of reacting to problems, we prevent them — so your lawn stays thick, green, and healthy from spring through fall without you thinking about it. Flexible recurring service options are available — scheduling and cancellation terms are stated in your proposal.

What a Routine Lawn Visit May Include

Routine lawn maintenance keeps turf and hardscape edges orderly during the growing season. The service is intended for lawns already in maintainable condition. A routine visit may include:

  • Height-appropriate mowing
  • Edging along accessible hard surfaces
  • Trimming around accessible obstacles
  • Blowing clippings from sidewalks and hard surfaces
  • Basic visible debris pickup
  • Weekly or biweekly scheduling when available

Property Access and Service Conditions

For safe, quality service, the following conditions help:

  • Gates must be accessible
  • Pets must be secured
  • Pet waste should be removed
  • Toys, hoses and objects should be cleared
  • Wet conditions may require rescheduling
  • Excessively overgrown turf may require separate pricing
  • Steep, unsafe or inaccessible areas may be excluded

Lawn Maintenance Is Not a Lawn-Treatment Program

Mowing, edging, and blowing are routine maintenance — they are not a lawn-treatment program. The following are not automatically included:

  • Fertilization
  • Weed treatment
  • Aeration
  • Overseeding
  • Topdressing
  • Sod repair
  • Irrigation repair

Northern Virginia Considerations

Northern Virginia's tall fescue lawns face clay soil compaction, summer heat stress, and fall leaf smother. Our programs are timed for fescue — early spring green-up and pre-emergent, summer stress support, fall aeration and overseeding, and late fall root-building — so your lawn stays thick and green from spring through fall.
